What is Body Combat?

BODYCOMBAT™ is a non-combat, martial arts-based fitness class with moves drawn from karate, tae kwon do, kung fu, kickboxing, muay thai and tai chi. Each 55 minute BODYCOMBAT™ class is choreographed to ten tracks of the latest  music, providing an exhilarating exercise experience that delivers ultra-fast fitness results. Like all Les Mills programs taught at Aurora Womens Fitness, a new BODYCOMBAT™ class is produced every three months with new music and choreography.

BODYCOMBAT™ class

Your BODYCOMBAT™ instructor will lead you through a series of moves in ten mini-workouts performed to different tracks of music.  First, the Warm-up teaches all the moves that will be used throughout the class and it also leaves you mentally and physically prepared for the battle ahead.  In Combat 1 you visualize your opponent and engage in your first fight combination.  In Power 1 you enter an aerobic training zone with a focus on speed, power and endurance.  Arrive at Combat 2 and begin to fight for your life! Power and energy in every combination as you again challenge your imaginary opponent.  Hit the halfway mark in Power 2, using punches to drill the upper body for a second time.  Time to recover in Combat 3 as we lower the intensity to prepare for the final phase of the class.  The workout explodes in a Muay Thai encounter where elbows and knees go into overdrive to take your fitness to the next level and leave your opponent in the dust.  Power 3. Give everything you have and don’t look back until you complete this upper body power blast and seal the deal on your fitness objectives.  Conditioning. Take to the floor and cap off the workout with some strength training.  Cool down. Payback time – where you stretch out and lengthen all those hard-worked muscles.

What will BODYCOMBAT™ do for me?

BODYCOMBAT™  improves cardiovascular fitness and reduces the risk of heart disease in addition to toning and shaping key muscle groups.  You burn calories and therefore develop a leaner body while you improve your coordination and agility.  The strenght training in BODYCOMBAT™ helps improve bone density, posture, core strength and stability while you build self-confidence.

How often should I do BODYCOMBAT™?

You’ll be hooked on BODYCOMBAT™ so get some balance in there and don’t overdo it! For best results try and do BODYCOMBAT™ two to three times per week.

How fit do I need to be?

BODYCOMBAT™ is for all women of moderate fitness levels. Because the moves are simple you don’t need to be especially well coordinated.
