What is BodyAttack?
BODYATTACK™ is a simple, high-intensity group exercise class set to energetic and inspiring music that caters to women of all fitness levels. You’ll experience high-energy sports training moves that will help develop your cardiovascular fitness along with upper and lower body conditioning exercises for building strength.
What happens in a BODYATTACK™ clas?
BODYATTACK™ is designed around a 55-minute two-peak format with 11 music tracks. Each track has a different exercise focus to challenge your cardio fitness and stamina. We begin with a warm-up, focusing on big simple aerobic moves. Next is mixed impact, a track that will take you through an increasing range of moves and foot-strikes, preparing the body for the aerobic action ahead. Next we train the aerobic system, steeping up the intensity and range of movement and get into your personal training zone ahead of the peak track to follow. Plyometrics is where the class hits its first intensity peak, putting the body under load through quick-fire plyometric exercises often used in sports training to condition athletes. In Upper body conditioning you reduce your heart rate, recover and build strength. The focus here is on shoulders, chest, triceps and core conditioning work for toning and shaping the upper body. Running anyone? Loosen up again with some free and patterned running and get the legs ready to fire again. Next - agility work where it is time to test your speed and agility with a big mix of moves and have fun with some class interaction. How about some intervals to challenge your cardio systems with a series of work-recovery blocks? Power is the final peak where you dig deep and push through powerful moves for maximum effort. Enjoy the group dynamic at the heart of BODYATTACK™. Lower body conditioning is your opportunity to recover the heart rate while conditioning the lower body for great shape, condition and tone and last, the cool-down. Congratulations you made it. What benefits will I see from participating in a BODYATTACK™ class?
You will burn lots of calories for a leaner body as well as tone and shape your body. In addition you will significantly raise your levels of overall fitness and stamina for high energy sports like soccer or tennis. You will also see big improvements in your co-ordination and agility and the core conditioning work will help you get stronger. You will also improve your bone health and density and increase your heart and lung capacity through a full-body cardio workout.
How fit do I need to be?
BODYATTACK™ is for everyone with moderate fitness levels. Because the moves are simple you don’t need to be especially well coordinated.
How often should I take a class?
Classes are best done with a rest day between them. For best results try and attend two to three BODYATTACK™ classes a week.
